On the 21st of April 2025, post the unfortunate death of Pope Francis, sovereign of Vatican City, several videos across the Internet were released that paid homage to this godly figure.
One of them included a Bob Dylan written song, which was later termed the “most fitting musical tribute” to this “divine father”.
But the usage of this song as a tribute also faced backlash, for people said the pope never really complained of the pressure of papacy, and “requesting the lord to take the badge from him” symbolises thereof. Furthermore, several reaffirmed the fact that the pope was at no point in his life “unable” to perform his papal duties, and “requesting the lord to put his guns in the ground for he can’t shoot ‘em anymore” symbolises thereof.
Dylan replied that this song, in this context, must not be taken with such seriousness but rather as a “method to show his attaining of paradise”
