In Korea, there are four compulsory so-called constitutional duties , which are, "labour" "taxes" "military service" and "education" for everyone. The only exception to military duty is possessing an olympic medal or a gold medal in the asian games.
However, one gentleman Park Yae(jae)-Sung was accused of not doing his military duties properly from 2003-2005. He filed a litigation against the military for an "effort to block (his) .. re-conscription"
He lost the appeal in Dec 2007 and was re drafted to the army.
However, in 2012, one famous act done by Park Yae(jae)-Sung boomed up the internet and gave him international acclaim.
It was also the first video to cross a billion views on YouTube.
Korea still hasn't apologised for the arbitary re drafting of Park yae (jae) sung into the military.
